I'm a self confessed instagram addict (I seem to spend most of my days documenting my latest meal or nail colour on there) since instagram arrived I've barely had any camera photos developed as my favourite pictures are always on instagram.
I was excited to hear from inkifi about having these instagram pictures printed, it was easy peasy to select and upload them direct from my instagram feed and when they arrived it was love at first sight... how cute are these prints?
I've actually used inkifi once before, I was hunting for a site to print some instagram pics to give to my bf last valentines day and discovered to my relief that they were based in the UK (I was in a hurry and everyone else was in the US!) I ordered the square 4" first time round so I wanted to try something different this time so I asked for the polaroid style miniprints (smaller than the squares but waaaay cuter)

well there's one place I never thought I'd visit and it was marbella.. I'm not the grey goose drinking, champagne spraying kinda gal but I did have a jolly good time! if you're a bit of a culture vulture I wouldn't advise it for you but if you wish to idle next to a pool for a week (with a few fun nights out thrown in) then it may well be an option...
here's some of my snaps from my trip:
our beautiful villa for the week | feet fun | the golf course | the doughnut lilo.. best thing I've ever purchased | the glorious mac counter | palm trees | puerto banus town | watermelons | zara home.. too much textile temptation!!

have a wonderful weekend!

yep that pretty much sums up my feeling towards my new dress. it's quite unlike anything else I own and is my favourite a/w piece so far. it also has the addition of pockets (always dear to my heart) and I love how understated it feels.
the dress is from front row shop who have quite the selection of quirky clothing, I'm already building up quite a hefty wishlist! I'm really loving unusual cuts and details and their clothing has a wonderful scandinavian feel to it, big fan.
I've been rummaging through my accessories and one thing I will be investing in this month is a few more vintage style rings, I really don't have enough choice in my current stash so if you have any jewellery shop recommendations please let me know! today I'm sporting some of my all time favourites to tide me over including my laura gravestock ring which never fails to perk up my paws.
today I'm in reykjavik with the boy; we've escaped to celebrate his 30th birthday yipeeee!! if you want to keep up to date you can pop over to my instagram for out latest adventures here
hope you're all having a good week.. look forward to catching up when I get home!

bum bum bum...BUMPER edition today!
hmmmm I really do take far too many pictures on instagram; the boy is threatening to send me to social media rehab as my head is constantly stuck in twitter or some other form of internet distraction.
it's by far my most used tool of procrastination (I love a good bit of time wasting)
I've got me a bona fide insta-habit; luckily it gives me plenty of material for these posts aha!
hope you guys enjoy my latest snapety snaps...
on the not so glamorous train to london | lichtenstein exhibit at tate modern - a must see | wagamamas, luckily I don't live near one or I'd have a serious problem! | tulips, my favourite spring blooms | kitten overload!!!! teeny tiny little wonders I wanted to scoop into my handbag | painting nails | giving my mucky make up brushes a clean! | pretty boy in a box | my nail wrap collection! a brilliant launch from the lovely ladies at scratch available to order now- check out my lookbook here!!

a bumper instagram post today!
apologies for the epic amount of pictures; I always take millions of snaps when I go away and this was a trip I've been dreaming of for YEARS (no joke, I was a big kid)
I wanted to share some of the best places we went to eat as a few of them aren't really in the guide books; plus I did so much research before I went I thought it would be a waste not to share it with you! lots of you have asked for my recommendations so I'll pop them in at the end of the post..
take off! | 5th avenue, I was really excited about seeing the famous yellow taxis and they are literally everywhere! | Chrysler building! my favourite of the famous skyscrapers especially at night when the art deco design is lit up! | washington square | eataly food market | on the statten island ferry- it's free and you get good views of the statue of liberty! | meatpacking district- great bars, this is the place to go at night! | times square | urban outfitters shopping
museum of modern art (moma) | kiosk entrance- one of my favourite shops downtown | the high line, worth a stroll along in the summer | flatiron building | warhol at moma | ed's lobster bar | flea market | eat italy deli selection | new york stock exchange |
ice skating at the rockefeller | more gallery visits | I loved taking street shots | brooklyn bridge | james and I | tea break | moma | central park in the snow | hells kitchen flea market
grand central | french toast at clinton st bakery | financial district | snacks, I'm obsessed with american sweets! | empire state building | shake shack | eating hot dogs and playing space invaders at crif dogs & PDT | art installations | ridin' the subway
so aside from the obvious sights of new york (times square, empire state, flatiron, chrysler, statue of liberty etc and the emotional 9/11 memorial) there's a million things to see and do.
each day we picked an area and went off to explore; we'd made a notebook of what we wanted to see in each district (being a bit organised in advance made it a breeze)
so if you're planning a trip these are some foodie places you should DEFINITELY visit (follow the links for the locations etc)
clinton street baking co: one of the best brunch stops in the city, like all the best eateries you'll probably find a queue so leave your name/book a table and go off and shop for an hour! trust me the pancakes & brioche french toast are the best I've ever eaten!!
crif dogs: this place is brilliant! teeny tiny, dark and shaking with old school r'n'b tunes. home of NYC's best wiener but don't expect frills; you'll get a hot dog on a paper plate and you'll eat it off a space invaders table it's hipster with a capital H! you may see a queue for a phone booth inside this 'special' phone is used to gain access to the secret cocktail bar called PDT behind the sliding booth door
eataly: looks like a small delicatessen until you walk through and an enormous market appears before your eyes! stop and sample the most amazing cheeses and meats at the independent restaurants with a glass of prosecco at lunchtime (a real treat and great for photo's too!)
ed's lobster bar: if you don't like lobster probably not the place for you! if however you do get yo' ass to soho to sit behind the bar and tuck into the most amazing food ever! the fresh buttered lobster roll is nothing short of divine and quite rightly their signature dish! (the lobster ravioli is also jaw dropping -I kept stealing bites from my bf!) seriously tasty.
shake shack: burger lover? you'll probably have heard of this place but it's really a must try! freshly made patties and mouthwatering milkshakes (the peanut butter & vanilla are gorgeous) you may have to queue at peak times but not for long as it's a fast turnaround.
katz delicatessen: this will be on every tourist agenda (remember that scene from when harry met sally? it was filmed here) but serious fun so you should definitely pay them a visit. be prepared the bustle is non stop and the famous rueben sandwich (it's been on man vs food so you know it's big!!) is the hardest thing I've ever tried to eat.
spice market in the meatpacking district this is a great restaurant because of the decor and atmosphere; we went without reservations and managed to get a chef's table which was pretty awesome. we watched them cook whilst we sipped on cocktails and generally drooled over the incredible smells of fresh spices!
food aside (there is more I could ramble on about) the other thing I'd really recommend is the flea markets (SERIOUSLY BRILLIANT) I went to the hells kitchen flea and it was one of my highlights, full of incredible vintage clothes and accessories. I found the vintage clothing shops massively overpriced in new york so the flea markets really made up for it. don't be afraid to haggle; the brooklyn flea is the biggest and best so definitely worth the trip if you're over there at the weekend!
I'll wrap it up there before you're all comatose...zzzzzzz! If anyone is visiting this year feel free to ask me any questions, I'd love to help!
back soon!

once again google manages to throw my twitter feed into a panic!
it seems google reader is soon to be no more; there's widespread worry that GFC will also be axed in their attempts to move all of us over to google+ (seriously does anybody ever use it? I for one am not a fan!)
on a positive note I'm quite happy if GFC doesn't make the cut; some of the best blogs I read don't have huge followings, I think the end of GFC will give new up and coming bloggers a more level playing field.
If I wasn't a blogger I wouldn't have a clue what it was anyway so bring it on google!
If I wasn't a blogger I wouldn't have a clue what it was anyway so bring it on google!
so rather than filling up twitter and facebook feeds with details of how to follow my posts I thought I pop up my favourite ways to follow on a little post!
here are easy ways for keeping up with blogs & burkatron:
bloglovin' probably the easiest and most efficient way of following multiple blogs at once in a nice easy format! readable, easy to navigate and all the latest news in one place.. easy peasy! find me here & come and say hi! follow burkatron on bloglovin'
tweet tweet! twitter is my favourite social network not only for following my most loved z-list celebs but for keeping up to date with what my fellow bloggers are doing! you can find me tweeping here!
facebook: I follow lots of brand pages to keep up to date with new releases, clothes I can't afford & the latest celebrity gossip! it's also pretty handy for checking out bloggers new posts, you can find me and say hi here!
hello cotton: similar to bloglovin this is a great platform to read multiple posts at once, I love how they have general categories from beauty to crafts for you to scroll through for inspiration, bravo ladies! find my posts and keep up to date here!
bookmark:
nothing wrong with a good ol' bookmark! I still use them to follow some of my most loved blogs & shopping sites! here's mine if you want to add it burkatron
instagram! gotta love the snap happy app that is instagram! the ultimate lazy way to keep up to date with what bloggers are wearing/buying/eating (with our cats, dogs & selfies thrown in for free) you can find me papping away here my user name is (surprise surprise,.. burkatron!)
well enough social network shizzle; I'll be back later with an outfit post for y'all!
ps. what do you guys think about the GFC uncertainty?

repainting my bedroom | today's make up | dog walking in my bf's big furry coat! brrrrr | my new iPad case, a present from my bestie | la moda bags, coming to an outfit post soon! | new office sale boots |
snow day!! | sale shoes from river island (only £10!) | my brothers new kitten beth, I've already become a insta-cat-spammer aha, she's so darn cute! | went to see gangster squad- ryan gosling & josh brolin heaven! | working on a nail art tutorial for company magazine woooooop, excited! | new jonathan aston tights (look at those models legs, wish mine were that long aha!) |
so that's my little instagram round up, I've not posted one for a few weeks so I thought I'd have a lot more pictures aha! I'm obviously slacking on the insta-spamming..wink.
I've had a really exciting week though; illamasqua picked me to be in their new feature called beauty spotlight, my jaw pretty much hit the floor because I was the first blogger involved (wowza!) if you want to read my interview it's here (thanks again to the wonderful team!) I'm a big fan of their make up after discovering it last year; their nail polishes are just gorgeous! I'm really looking forward to seeing their new collection.. I'll probably put up some swatches, I wont be able to resist!
the other exciting news was that company magazine asked me to put together another nail art tutorial for their weekly edit. I was super excited to help as it's one of my favourite magazines! the weekly edit is a digital version with their beauty, fashion, music & street style highlights available to download in the app store so you can read it on your iPhone whilst out and about! if you want to get yourself a copy here's the link: weekly edit and you'll be able to read my tutorial for painting nail art bows in the beauty school!
I hope you're all enjoying the snow if you have it? my car broke down a few days ago, I was stranded until the AA man rescued me from becoming a ice pole, yikes so so cold! (I do love the snow though it gives me an excuse to wear my furry coats and pretend I'm a bear) plus it's pretty much the perfect reason to switch to drinking big cups of hot chocolate.... mmmmm.
anyway happy snow sunday from me; whatever you're doing I hope you've had a great weekend!
back soon

I say this every week but seriously how is it sunday already?!
I have an atrocious hangover as I write this, I would like to thank the coffin full of alcohol at last nights halloween party for the pain I'm currently suffering... ouch (it was one awesome gathering though, complete with fireworks! the boys had dug graves, removed all the light bulbs from indoors and had horror film snippets playing on repeat. I've never felt so on edge!)
I hope you've all had a good week! hello to new followers too! I've spend an unhealthy amount of time painting nails the last 7 days and I hold my bf fully responsible as he bought me some nail wheels to play with!
I'll be back with new posts this week, I'm catching up on last nights x factor and trying out some new floral nails tonight so I imagine they'll make an appearance!
anyway.. enough chat! here's a little snippet from my instagram life this week:
bloody halloween nails | my zombie waitress outfit, I had far too much fun making this! I hope it washes out... ooops | the dreaded booze coffin that has left me suffering today!
playing with nail wheels | chinese take out, mmmm | loving this texture spray on my hair this week!
I love my beauty case for keeping my make up tidy | banana peel nails | ex military buttons, £2 for a whole bag! I'll be putting these on everything!
studded navy nails | my new camo beanie, a £1.50 bargain | practising gradients on my wheels!
I'm off to wallow in self pity with my duvet, cadburys and a tv remote for the evening aha!
back soon campers!
