style, ways to wear a bomber

it's kinda been forever since i shared an outfit post with you guys! now that spring's arrived i might venture out of hibernation (every now and again.) i'm starting to get excited at the prospect of actual sun and bare leg weather.. whoa steady on.

so you know when you see something and you absolutely NEED to own it? well that was my initial impression with this zara bomber. i first saw it on their instagram only to discover it had sold out in minutes (gah) but much to my delight the little rascal was restocked and well.. the rest is history! i always add pins and patches to my vintage jackets so finding a bomber plastered in them was a total win for me.

these high waited asos ripped jeans are ridiculously comfy and quite stretchy for a mom jean? i found my usual size a little long so i hacked the bottom off with some scissors. (i guess a normal person would swap them for a different leg length but i'm a stupidly impatient shopper.)

these pumps from daniel footwear are an absolute beauty,  i opted for a neutral shade so i can mix and match them with lots of other outfits. i'm happy to report not a single blister since i've started wearing them which is SO rare for me and my tissue paper thin skin (thank you comfy feet gods!)

since i bought this jacket i've found another 1167 bombers i adore. the selection on asos and topshop are killing me a little so i've banned myself from looking at them.. i give it 24hrs.

..damn you temptation.

back soon!

james and I went away this weekend and I wanted to pop to a few shops I don't have locally. I've been quite restrained lately trying to only purchase items that I'll wear often- I've realised that 90% of wardrobe is overlooked in favour of grabbing a basic tee and jeans for daily wear. I guess I'm a creature of habit!

oh emm geee it feels like ages since I've done a post with all my favourite little things in!

I've picked up some more things this week so I'll put up another post soon.. but here's a few bits + bobs that have tickled my fancy of late, scroll down to find out more:

my pal laura has opened up a new shop selling statement necklaces, I love throwing on something sparkly over a basic tee and jeans so this was right up my street! I also ought to point out that prices start at £5 so nip over and check them out here before those little rascals are all gone!!

I love this salty face buffer! it's seriously refreshing and the only thing that wakes me up in the morning; I do have to be careful with it as I have a tendency to scrub for dear life (I think my face would rather like to keep its skin intact) overall though a zingy little winner.

nothing makes me more upset at mother nature than having a pastel pair of vans just crying to be worn, I've had these for a few months and I'm so scared of getting them muddy they're currently taunting me from my shoe rack.. roll on spring so I can get these bad boys out in the open..

cath kidston mirror compact
I actually got this at christmas and in my eagerness to tidy up filled it away and forgot all about it, it's now parked in my everyday handbag for checking I don't have eyeliner all down my face (that has actually  happened more than once..)

I adore this egg cup set by keith brymer jones, it was a gift from our friends and I could not love it more! I had a look at some of the other things from the range and can safely say I'll attempt to buy it all..

I picked this up in paperchase sale just because it was ummm on sale. well we all need another snow globe right?

sometimes I buy random things in paperchase and that's all I have to say about these. if anyone is in need of childrens party bags you know where I am.

fujifilm instax mini
I wanted one of these for ages and now I have one I'm yet to use it! I'm determined to start snapping on this when I'm next out and about.. if anyone know where I can get cheap films for this let me know!

I nabbed this from the sale rack and haven't managed to wear it yet, it's not really a dress I'd wear often (I'm more intending to layer it up and wear it as a skirt) but I loved the detail on the neck and hem... I'm a sucker for a lace trim.

back soon!

yesterday I received possibly the best news ever! look magazine ran a blogger street style competition and they picked me as the winner!!! honestly I have to say I was ridiculously excited when I heard, I never really thought I'd have a chance as there was so many good entries and I'm only a newbie to the fashion blog sphere!

I've gotten a free six month subscription to the magazine which I love! I stopped buying most magazines because I was fed up of flicking through 20 pages of adverts to get to an actual article! the reason I buy look is because its a great mag for highlighting trends and shows you the best picks for the high street.

the other and most exciting part of the competition was the chance to write a blog for look! I'm so excited to do a little piece for them! I can't stop thinking up outfits already!!

anyway excitable ramble over.. here's one of my outfits this week. I'm coming to the conclusion that I seem to be dressing like a 6yr old lately. I love colour, I'm happiest when my wardrobe looks like a rainbow and I never wear black...wow fashion crime confession!

this is my favourite DIY this year! I kept seeing expensive studded shirts that I was seriously tempted to buy but since I've completely overran my budget this month I decided to make my own! Its so easy and I'm totally in love with my new creation! I ordered some studs from etsy (great website for craft supplies) they took some time to arrive since the seller was in thailand but if you're in a hurry you could probably find a uk seller on amazon

I just took my shirt and laid the studs out in a rough arrangement until I had an idea where I wanted them. the studs have two prongs in the back, luckily the fabric was so light I was able to just push the prongs through and fold them over. use a hammer to gently tap the prongs closed on the underside of the collar. I worked from the tip of the collar adding rows increasing by one stud each time.

I was going to stud the entire collar but I changed my mind and just did two triangles! plus this means I have enough left over studs to decorate something else. I have a feeling one of my handbags is going to get a makeover next...

hope you like it! caroline x
