it's been a while since pineapples have made an appearance on the blog so I figured I should rectify the situation! these dinky little magnets are an easy project to jazz up your fridge or memo boards plus they'd be cute presents for stationery lovers (and who doesn't love stationery right?)

tiny wing ring c/o jana reinhardt

I had a teeny delivery that was so darn pretty I couldnt resist sharing it with you!

apparently good things do come in small packages and this tiny wing ring from jana reinhardt is just about the most perfect thing I've seen... I'm slightly obsessed with clean delicate jewelery so this dainty liitle piece is just the kind of thing I'm always hunting for!
I have a wishlist as long as my arm throughout the year and when christmas rolls around my mind goes blank; I couldn't string together a list this month if you paid me.. anyone else the same?

if you're looking for some gift ideas you can see jana & ross's range of gold and silver jewellery here!

I'm always on the hunt for new jewellery so I thought I'd share my latest creative crush with you.. the divine laura gravestock! I've been harbouring a secret love affair with her accessories for months (I've been known to stalk her twitter pictures..don't tell anyone)

like most people I love snapping up necklaces in topshop and h&m but it's rather nice to own a few proper pieces in amongst them and there's something undeniably special about picking out a ring measured to fit.

I had the opportunity to visit her studio in london where she designs and makes her collection by hand (cue excited squeals) since I was there with my camera I took a few snaps to show you my favourites!
the written heart ring is one of my favourites; I've seen rosie fortescue wearing one and have been a little in love with it since!
promise lattice ring is so pretty with a middle eastern influence! laura showed me the process of making this ring which was pretty amazing, a little more expensive than the others but definitely a statement.
written love ring, all of the written rings are hand made by laura and there's a hate ring too! they come in silver, rose or classic gold, I'm usually a gold wearer but I've been swayed by silver more and more this spring!
.
and the winner was..the double stacker chain ring! slightly more edgy but still feminine so it ticks all the boxes for me.. it also fits a dream as it was measured for my hands.
I'm so pleased with my new addition.. the latest arrival to the burkatron family! now that I've discovered the novelty of wearing real grown up jewellery I'm hooked!

if you want to see more pretty jewels you can have a peek at her site here! starting from £25 for sterling silver its incredibly affordable and far too darn tempting (consider this your warning!)

I've made my other half well aware of my other favourites and will be dropping enormous hints at regular intervals...wink!

which is your favourite? have you got any recomendations for up and coming designers?

hello guys! a quick post today (I'm busy wrapping my fingers up in yards of sellotape and wrestling non square presents into wrapping paper... joy)

I was asked my the lovely people at US magazine maniera if I could come up with a nail art tutorial incorporating their colours of black and gold. I had a lot of ideas but I was really swayed by the idea of gold leopard print, not only is it a easy style but the metallic base also makes them a great option for festive parties this month!

I've used models own gold rush for the base (this is my all time favourite gold nail polish!)then  simply apply white dabs over the nails and once dry outline with a black nail art pen!

you can read the full tutorial in the magazine here

I hope you like them! I'll be back with more nail art later this week (spoiler alert... it's christmas trees!) and some other bits & bobs so stay tuned!

big love

I've been a fan of heavily embellished nails for a few months now. I wanted to incorporate my love of the baroque trend with the current fashion for 3D nails.. hence these totally over the top nails were born!

possibly not the most practical nails but definitely fun and perfect for all those festive parties we've got coming up (I'd wear these with a little black dress and lots of gold toned arm candy!)

so the main base for these is a beautiful gold polish from models own called gold rush. I actually wore this a lot last christmas and it's still perfect shade for autumn/winter glamour.

you may want to invest in a nail stud and gem kit for this; the one I've used is from misguided and has a great selection of studs, pearls, caviar and gems.

start by applying your gold base and leave to dry; now it's time to build up your textures! using a drop of clear polish as glue secure a selection of pearls, gems and studs to the tip of your nails.

build up the 3D effect by scattering some gold caviar balls around the gems and fix on some additional rhinestones with clear polish. once you are happy with your embellishment seal everything with two coats of clear top coat!

I hope you like them!

here's a round up of my latest nail art efforts! the glitter nails are really easy, brush on a clear base/top coat and sprinkle on fine glitter. I got mine from a craft shop, they sell them in all colours and sizes for craft projects and are pretty cheap to buy. just repeat the clear polish and glitter layers until you're happy with the result. I graduated mine but you can cover the whole nail if you like!

these gold edged nails are really cute, I just painted on models own top turquoise as a base and once it had dried used models own gold digger to accentuate. to get the sharp line just mark off the area with some sellotape, it keeps the edges between the two colours nice and neat!

these are my favourite nails I'm still wearing them today. I used two coats of OPI white polish as a base, once that had dried I brushed on a coat of clear polish and stuck on assorted jewels whilst the clear polish was still wet (just do one finger at a time!) I used several glitters, shiny disks and clear diamante, use an orange stick or tweezers to help stick them on.

you can get these stick on jewel decorations in general nail art kits and just mix and match them on your nails. use plenty of clear top coat to finish and they should last a while! uber pretty and they really sparkle on a night out...
