great escapes | copenhagen

you might have seen on my instagram that I've been in copenhagen with UGG this week! james and I were incredibly excited to head off on another adventure- after visiting stockholm last month it's safe to say we're been bitten by the scandi bug! we arrived to beautiful sunshine so were lucky to experience copenhagen at it's best. it's a colourful and exciting city but the atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and laid back! it's also compact enough to make it a perfect city break destination..

one of our favourite sights was the beautiful nyhavn port with it's pastel houses and bustling cafes, the main streets of copenhagen were much vaster than I expected (they reminded me slightly of lower manhattan) but this area has much more intimate feel. we also headed to try our first smorgasbord at one of the food markets we stumbles across (and I can confirm it was delicious!)

we stayed in a really cute rooftop airbnb apartment so we had oodles of stairs to climb each day so when we stopped off at the laundromat cafe for giant burgers it was pretty guilt free (we earned it right?) our apartment was in norrebro which is a really quirky area with lots of hipster bars and colourful graffiti. if you do head to copenhagen definitely rent a bike- one of the best way to see the city quickly. unlike here in the uk the infrastructure is really cyclist orientated with massive cycle lanes and bikes at every turn.

I wore my news UGG trainers (obvs) nobody wants sore feet on holiday. does anyone else remember getting your first pair of UGG boots?

I wanted to wear something that was comfortable enough for an early flight (our alarm went off at 3am- eeek) but was smart enough to hit the ground running! I opted for jeans and a simple trench and it fit the bill for me. I only tend to pack a small hand luggage case for city breaks so I've become a bit of a pro packer. I plan my outfits for each day so I don't waste time debating on outfits while I'm there!

another area I really liked was vesterbro and it's trendy meat packing district, If you head there check out mother restaurant for pizza and tommis' burger joint for no frills calorific goodness! they also have some cool galleries and lots of dinky shops to explore (cough...drag your bf into)

we had such a wonderful adventure rambling around and I hope you've enjoyed a peek at some of my photos!

copenhagen was my great escape but UGG are giving you the chance to win your own- if your planning a weekend away or a day out by the seaside then all you have to do is follow UGG on twitter and instagram -or pop over to facebook and simply share your images with #thisisUGG to enter their competition for a summer getaway for 2. you can find all the deets here!

a big thank you to UGG for our wicked trip! I'm already thinking about where we can go to next.. have you been to copenhagen before?
