I've rounded up a some bits and bobs I've been a fan of this week! as you can see it's a rather random assortment (forgive me!) but I don't have time to post about them all and I think they're worthy of a thumbs up!
1. primark socks: I've been buying topshop frilly socks for a few months now (too cute to resist) I just discovered that primark are selling pairs for £1.50! I'm so fickle I switched my frilly sock allegiance immediately, sorry topshop!
2. barry m gelly polishes and confetti nail effects: I've purchased a few gelly polishes over the last two months and I'm really impressed with them. I find them a little slow to dry but the opacity is really good and some only need one generous coat for good coverage! the confetti effects in dolly mixture are adorable I LOVE it! it isn't like a glitter polish it's more like having tiny feathers on your fingertips, big fan!
3. paperchase stickers: I added another batch to my collection this week! these are brit themed with cute london cartoon characters that will be making an appearance in my sketchbook soon!
4. nailtopia nail art stickers* I was sent these to review and I've been meaning to squeeze them in as I have so many nail art items! they're super easy to work with; literally peel them off and apply to your nail for instant decor! (see picture below for example, there are lots of variations online) my favourite are their las vegas stickers with playing cards and dice (hell yeah I love a theme) seal them with a top coat and you're good to go.
5. garnier ambre solaire no streaks bronzer spray: further to my fake tan post I wanted to tell you that this is my go-to mist for tanning my face! this version is actually for the body (there is a face version I'm just too lazy to get it) I don't like to use my fake tan mitts on my face as I'm sure they're a breeding ground for bacteria! I always opt for a spray as it's less likely to give me any breakouts and looks a bit more natural.
6. cadburys marvellous creations and teasers bars: yes I really have included chocolate in this post aha! I blame the sugar high or impending diabetes but I'm addicted to these bars this week!! send help...

easy peasy nail art coming up!
I've been playing with some items that I've received from superdrug- one of which happens to be these bourjois manicure toppings. I'm so late to the party on this one (call myself a nail art blogger huh?)
I love painting my nails but not everyone has the time or inclination for fancy pants nail art so this is a great one which takes no skill at all (seriously even my boyfriend could master this one!)
start off with a base colour, I've was given this lovely peppermint rimmel polish for some recent nail features so I decided to give it a whirl!
I'm not sure why but I barely own ANY rimmel polishes, I have my favourites and I tend to stick with them so poor old rimmel hasn't had a look in for a while now.
I've seen quite a few glowing reviews on them lately especially these salon pro offerings; now I've tried one I would totally purchase these in future as they're under a fiver and it hasn't chipped once (watch out models own!)
next sprinkle the micro pearls over wet polish (with a piece of paper underneath to catch any excess beads!) if your base coat has dried add a lick more paint before you shake! that's it, easy peasy.
seal with topcoat as these rascals would probably rather explore than stay on your nails without it.
it's a pretty effect, not one I'd want to wear everyday as I find anything that's raised on my nails gets caught in my hair! definitely one for a night out or special occasion for me.
the topping are just shy of £7 which I think is quite reasonable? this manicure barely affected the contents of mine so I think they would last quite long if I'm careful....
I hope you like them! have any of you tried them.. what did you think?
back soon!

I painted some simple 1920's inspired nail art that I'd I thought I'd share with you today!
I immediately thought of the great gatsby movie when I opened these polishes! they're quite an opulent pair so I decided an art deco design would be appropriate to show off the jewel tones and rich glitters.
queen victoria street is a beautiful polish, it's also an absolute nightmare to photograph! I've tried three cameras and it always photographs slightly blue, it in fact a stunning emerald green in the flesh!
once the base colour had dried I taped off triangles at the base of my nails using some masking tape!
I used the second polish grosvenor gardens to fill in the triangles, this glitter polish is a beauty! it's a chunky 3D pink and lilac pastel glitter with smaller green flecks throughout to create texture; it has really good coverage and would look lovely over nude or pale nails this summer.
I finished off by outlining the triangles with my white nail art pen then sealed with topcoat!
the polishes themselves are great, I've tried quite a few nails inc polishes over the last year and find the colours and formula good across the board.
the glitter polish is my favourite but it's hard to capture the full spectrum of it's colours here so I'll post some other snaps on instagram of it for you too!
I hope you like them!

you know when you buy something new and you wear it to death within a week... yes that's me and my new skirt!
I finally had to part with it to the washing machine... I'm already suffering withdrawals (send help)
I've been so busy praying for the sun to arrive I hadn't even considered what to wear when it landed! I love forever 21 for vests and little summer tops, they're so affordable it's easy to justify buying a few items to perk up my wardrobe! luckily I'd picked up this vest last month so when I popped out for lunch I paired it with my new denim number, a truck load of bracelets and one of my favourite vintage bags.
light wash denim skirt: river island
vest: forever 21
vintage bag: the little deer
eagle necklace: topshop
sunglasses: h&m
ring, watch, belt & leather bracelets: urban outfitters
leather gladiator sandals: new look
we stopped off for lunch in one of my favourite spots, cheesy pineapple & mushroom goodness ensued.
thin, crispy, delicious pizza you've ruined me.
hope you're enjoying the weekend!
back soon!

I've been meaning to make a floral crown for ages (since last summer in fact) I never quite got around to buying the essentials so it was left on my neglected DIY to do list!
the combination of sun and an urge to get away from my laptop finally got the better of me this week so here it is!
it's so fun to make and not expensive either, mine came in under £10 and took me roughly an hour or so to finish! I'd love to make one out of fresh flowers but for the time being I opted for silk flowers which are easy to get hold of and last a lot longer!
the main things you need are an assortment of flowers (available at craft or home stores- mine were from dunelm) garden wire and some fine jewellery wire. A pair of scissors or pliers to cut is also a must!
measure and bend the wire to fit your head (make it a little bigger as the more flowers you add the tighter the fit will become) wrap another length of wire around the crown to make it more secure.
now comes the fun part! start twisting your flowers into the crown- you'll find the flowers have wire stems so this is surprisingly easy.
you can use the fine wire to secure and tidy any stems, trim off the excess.
when I arranged my flowers I used the largest blooms at the front, then used the smaller flowers around the sides to create a graduated effect (I think it would be too big to wear otherwise!)
I found the smaller flowers worked best around the back of the crown where it rests against the base of your neck.
I wrapped some raffia around the crown just to decorate (you could also use ribbon which would look really pretty!)
taaaa daaaa! one finished pastel flower crown! (get me some wellies I'm ready to get my festival on!)
do you think you'll be tempted to try one yourself?
let me know if you make one too.. I'd love to see yours!
back soon!

I've always liked OPI polishes (particularly the names) but I do tend to overlook them in favour of models own or illamasqua. I'm not sure why, mainly habit I think? the formula of their polishes is really good so I'm determined to invest in a few more and rectify the situation!
today I'm wearing elephantastic pink an OPI polish that was sent to me by fragrance direct, it's a gorgeous colour and the formula is a beauty. I hesitate to describe it as 'salmon' pink ....but it's the word that springs to mind so I guess I will!
I wouldn't normally be so eager to share a simple swatch post with you but I'm quite astounded by the prices on their website, they have dozens and dozens of OPI polishes available and they're only £3.99, did anybody else know this...??
they also sell essie polishes for £1.99
seriously £1.99
I feel a bit robbed thinking of all the ones I've brought in boots at full price! although they don't have many essie colours available at the minute so your choice is limited.
I have to say I'm deeeelighted (but slightly concerned for my debit card) that I can get hold of OPI at such a bargain price. apologies for those of you not so interested in nail polish but this has been a little revelation for me aha!
I'll be back tomorrow with a super cute DIY project (hope you like it!)
