hi, my name's caroline and I have an obsession with pastel coats.

I've been stalking them all season (pink ones in particular) and a few weeks back I finally found a winner. 

here's something nobody mentioned... the overwhelming danger of STAINS.

running a daily risk assessment's on how to enter my car without touching the sides ....backing away in morbid fear as my 3yr old niece charges towards me with sticky ice cream hands and GOD FORBID anyone brushes against me without a full inspection of cleanliness. yep, all of a sudden the world is a more dangerous place.

the upside? 

...it's worth every fluffy pink fearful minute!

I love prints.. especially of the palm tree variety!

two minutes after opening this meemee dress, I was on a beach, mojito in hand ready for my summer holiday (you can't blame a girl for dreaming...) as soon as the rain makes itself scarce this little beauty is going to be a staple in my sunny day dress collection. they have some really nice items in at the minute, this lace playsuit is  already making my debit card nervous so if you haven't added them to your shopping bookmarks you should.

you may notice my new hat; this topshop fedora has been on my wishlist for about two months (yep I caved, I'm weak) now I can pretend to be indiana jones from the comfort of my own bedroom... that's my weekend plans sorted.

the belt is from forever 21 and is a really good dupe of the urban outfitters versions so I figured I was saving myself some money with this purchase...wink.

hello sunshine, good bye wages.

sunny weather puts me in a dangerously good mood which usually leads to shopping. yes I know.. I'm weak.

I have resisted shopping for clothes however (gives myself a pat on the back) and instead decided to buy a few little accessories to perk up my wardrobe for the summer.

first up some sunglasses as I'm horrendlous short of pairs. I'm not sure where they disappear to every year but I have a feeling my mum or sister has a stash of my specs hidden away somewhere... rascals! I picked these sunnies up in h&m along with the blingtastic necklace! I've wanted a statement piece to wear with a white tee and jeans for the summer and I liked the shape of this one.

I also grabbed some barry m gelly polishes (finally!!) I think I was the only blogger who didn't own any of these so I'm looking forward to swatching them. bright shiny nails with summer skin are so pretty!

The last beauty purchase was a top up of my maybelline dream lumi touch concealer; I tend to switch from foundation to just concealer when it's warm so this is an essential one for me!

oh man, another dungaree-esque look I hear you say..  hell yeah sorry I love 'em.

boy oh boy you wont believe how impressed I am with this dress from karma clothing! my favourite shade of denim, it fits an absolute treat and is astoundingly affordable at the jaw dropping price of £12. I kid you not folks, grab one before they go, their website is full of little bargains!

I love the super simple combination of white and denim, for me it goes hand in hand like tea and toast, easy.

I also decided to embrace a little silver jewellery for a change, I snagged the necklaces in new look and bought a few bangles in primark to top off the cheap and cheerful accessories. 

the other item I'm doing a little happy dance about are my gorgeous new shoes from chatham marine! I have the most annoying feet; after 20 minutes of walking I guarantee most footwear will give me horrendous blisters (occasionally it has it's perks, it's the ideal excuse for avoiding exercise if I'm feeling lazy!) 

when I discover super cute moccasin style shoes with the bonus of them feeling like a hug for your feet then I'm sold, I'm one happy footed bunny right now! if you're a fan of boat shoes and all things nautical then their website is one to browse..

I have a habit of putting together the most random items; today was one of those days! 

I saw this satin bomber jacket in american apparel and just loved it; it's so fresh and simple I knew it'd be a good investment for the summer. I went for ivory but there's some other to die for colour options.

I've been tempted to wear this 80's vintage shirt for a while now but couldn't seem to find the right outfit! today I decided it was going in the mix and so was my new necklace. I've been wearing so much gold the last few years that I'm now loving silver all over again (especially the silver and turquoise combination) so I'm hoping to buy a few more little pieces over the summer. 

I'm glad I picked out this random ensemble though! I have a habit of reaching for the same items in my wardrobe without thinking; it's good to mix it up and find clothes you've forgotten about hidden away!

my plans for tonight consist of fajitas, a duvet & magic mike on DVD (living the saturday night dream y'all!)
