I'm not going to lie.. I'm still quite partial to sneaking a hip flask into my handbag on a night out (I can't help myself, I'd rather spend my money on shoes and biscuits.) when I saw this DIY to cover hip flasks on a beautiful mess I knew I had to try it.. it's so darn simple!
you'll need:
a hip flask (lots on amazon for as little as £3)
oilcloth fabric/PVC fabric often used for tablecloths (you can find some on eBay, etsy)
glue, craft knife or scissors
this project only takes 10 minutes or so to make! start off by cutting a strip of oilcloth or waterproof PVC fabric to fit around your flask (you'll want it to overlap an inch or so.)
you'll probably find a lot of oilcloth is sold by the half meter/meter so you'll have lots left over for other projects. I picked up mine in dunelms and it only cost me about £2 for each half meter (eBay is a great source for these wipe clean fabrics; I've seen some really nice gingham and polka dot ones ones but I didn't have the patience to wait for them to arrive!) if you really want to splash out cath kidston have the world's most amazing oilcloth selection!
once you've cut it to fit fold the oilcloth around and simply glue in place using a multi purpose glue (one that adheres to metal is best!)
taaa daaaa.. I think it's happy hour time!
I think they look pretty darn cute and I can't believe how quick they are to make! I'm going to source some more oilcloth in different patterns and make some more for my friends.. I think they'll make great gifts.
what do you think.. would you try making these too?

my love of stationery has taken a turn to the obsessive so it won't come of much of a surprise that I found myself stocking up in tiger store when I popped to cambridge..
I did branch out and buy a few homeware items including this awesomely kitsch cake stand which is now home to some of my jewellery and assorted desk clutter! one of the best things about tiger store is the amazingly low prices, this little beauty was only £5! (it also came in pink and I'm regretting not buying both)
I grabbed some postcards as I have dozens of empty picture frames at home, I love the mix of bright and graphic prints.
I had to invest in a few notebooks (because you can NEVER have enough) I also nabbed some bakers twine, ribbon and clips.
last but not least I discovered their ceramics! I'm planning to use the mug as a pen holder and these cute monochrome tile coasters are just what I need as my tendency to leave half drunk cups of tea on every available work surface is a special talent.
I'm already itching to go back as they change stock regularly and you can't buy tiger products online (WHY OH WHY!!) this heart breaking revelation aside I'm pretty happy with my new friends.
are you a tiger store fan... is there anything here you like?

before christmas I was hunting for a new notebook and stumbled across the worlds cutest site! let me introduce you to artbox; their stationery is a serious steal and almost good enough to eat.
...needless to say I got a little carried away shopping that evening.
I managed to top up my notebook collection as well as a few writing paper sets (not that I was planning on doing much correspondence but with paper this cute I may well pen myself a love letter.)
if you're after a new notebook I'd recommend you pop over here. there's lots of them so keep scrolling through the pages I found my faves towards the end and don't tell anyone... artbox is our little secret.
are you a fan of cute kawaii stationery too? let me know if like them!

...who doesn't love a novelty jumper at christmas?
since this jumper arrived for my other half we've been busy arguing over custody! (it's the cutest knit and a cosy over sized fit on me which is so darn tempting in this arctic weather) every year my bf and his friends have an annual novelty jumper night out so he's pretty darn happy with his pud.
no I didn't manage to rope magnum pi into posing for a festive snap.. meet james and his impressive movember friend.
I did manage to pinch it albeit temporarily (christmas is the time for giving right?) since the boy is tormenting me with the tash I shall be wearing a variety of silly hats until december, revenge my friends is sweet.
if you're after something fun for one of the boys this christmas there's a whole stash of festive gift ideas here (if however you're secretly after something for yourself this snowman jumper is my personal fave!)
have you invested in a novelty knit this year?

today I have a fun little project for you; a tassel bracelet that you can make in a snip!
I came across this cute idea from I spy DIY on pinterest and immediately wanted to try it.
all the items needed are easily available on eBay, etsy or in craft shops! Just follow the steps below to make your own DIY tassel jewellery:
it's a really simple idea, mine took less than half an hour and there's lots of variations if you want to experiment... I think next time I'll opt for some chunky silver chains and different colour threads.
have any of you made something similar.. would you try this DIY?
back soon!
