*this is a sponsored post with the 7th chamber*
for me christmas nail art means one thing.. GLITTER! even though glitter polish tends to be one of my main festive regrets (takes. so. long. to. get. off.) I still can't help myself and every year I go OTT for party nails.
I really wanted to do a classic gold glitter mani.. but with a twist. I wanted something cute but also funky for my festive nights out so I've added a little extra detail to turn things up a notch! This isn't too tricky so I've made a tutorial for you to recreate it yourself.
materials:
gold glitter polish
white, blue and black nail art pens (or polish and a fine brush)
dotting tools
first off draw the outline of the white eye (it's like a reverse french manicure) this will give you a guide for where to avoid painting the glitter.
start building up the layers of glitter polish until you get an even coverage. you can also shake on loose glitter to the wet polish if you want a super chunky finish. when the last glitter coat is finished use a brush and white polish to outline the white again.
next you want to build up the eye. use a dotting tool to dab on a blue circle and leave to dry whilst you get the next colour ready.
the next step is adding a black circle for the pupil. this circle needs to be smaller so you can still see the blue edges.
to finish the eye add a tiny fleck of white using a small dotting tool or brush to add a highlight to the pupil. last but not least add a good slick of top coat to seal the deal.
taaa daaa fancy pants party nails with a twist ..what do you think?
I'm excited to wear these out for drinks with my friends this month. if you're looking for some more festive inspo house of fraser have released a series of how to/christmas hack videos including this modern take on a french mani above!
their message of 'your christmas, your rules' is definitely one I can get on board with this year.
back soon

well I couldn't do a christmas nail month without painting some snowmen..
so here's my latest festive offering; frosty the snowman eat your heart out!
I decided to just paint one nail today and have some snowflakes thrown in as well, but you can paint as many as you like! I think I'm going to try out some christmas tree nails at the weekend (earlier this week I went to buy a real tree and decided that I had to include them in my xmas nail party!)
so here is the basic step by step you can follow!
first off I painted a base of beth's blue from models own and then got out my nail art pens for the following details..
that's it folks!
hope some of you try them! (I've loved seeing your penguins & reindeer's pictures so far!!)
back soon gang!

woooop! the christmas tree is up, my xmas shopping list has finally been written and it's high time I delivered on those festive nails I've been promising..
here's the first instalment.. mini reindeer's!
I think they're the cutest nails ever... I wanted to show you how to do them too!
here's the basic steps:
paint a pale pink base coat; I used models own pastel pink.
take a light beige/brown (I used models own slate grey here) and draw on a circle this is your reindeer face. next add to teeny dots either side for the ears.
using a fine brush lightly draw on the antlers with a darker brown.
this is the main part complete.. the next stage is the finishing touches!
use a white nail art pen to draw two little ovals for the eyes.
use a black nail art pen to add pupils and draw on the reindeer noses at the nail tip! (make one reindeer nose red- this one is rudolph of course!)
to finish add two dots of pink polish for reindeer cheeks plus a little dot of white on the nose to suggest shine!
leave to dry and add lots of top coat to seal!
......taaaa daaaaah festive rudolph the reindeer nails!
I hope you all like them!! I'm aiming to post my '12 nails of christmas' so check back for another festive mani soon!
