DIY clay trinket bowls

I'm a nightmare for leaving rings and watches scattered around the house.. then panicking that I've lost them!

when I get home the first thing I do is take off my jewellery (followed swiftly by my make up) so it's handy to have a little bowl to pop them into! this ring dish tutorial by a beautiful mess inspired me to try making my own, although it's a slightly more minimal version than their pretty marbled ones.

grab some air dry clay and a rolling pin.

roll out the clay and use some cookie cutters to cut out circles. you can leave them plain or use your fingers to scallop the edges and add a little texture.

I've made a mixture of textured and plain as I like both effects. if you have some small bowls you can lay the clay into them to help hold their shape while they dry.

once they've dried you can lightly sand them to remove any imperfections. I loved the gold rims on the beautiful mess bowls so I've painted some on mine with a small brush.

I've left mine scattered around the house so there's no more misplacing my jewellery!

would you be tempted to try making some?

back soon!
