lemon sweater: cow vintage
gingham skirt: primark

vans: c/o allsole

I'm having a fully fledged love affair with midi skirts ..I've always loved them but now they're back in fashion there's even more of them to choose from.. hurrah! this little beauty was a steal from primark.. second to my love of midi's is my love of gingham (I'm having primary school flashbacks) so this was a total no brainer purchase.

the only downfall? wearing it on a sunny but windy afternoon.. nobody needs to see my cartoon print knickers making an appearance... well, ever.

everything else in this outfit is quite old, I've been having a wardrobe spring clean so rediscovered this vintage top and thrifted bag (I love finding forgotten clothes tucked away!) the only new addition is these pastel vans from allsole which have finally seen the light of day now the weather has perked up.. hallelujah!

back soon!

hi, my name's caroline and I have an obsession with pastel coats.

I've been stalking them all season (pink ones in particular) and a few weeks back I finally found a winner.

here's something nobody mentioned... the overwhelming danger of STAINS.

running a daily risk assessment's on how to enter my car without touching the sides ....backing away in morbid fear as my 3yr old niece charges towards me with sticky ice cream hands and GOD FORBID anyone brushes against me without a full inspection of cleanliness. yep, all of a sudden the world is a more dangerous place.

the upside?

...it's worth every fluffy pink fearful minute!

hello rascals!

spring seems to have arrived; I can't believe how bright the evenings are this week, hurrah!

I think it's high time for an outfit post since I've been slacking over the weekend. you'll have to excuse the messy 'do I've been suffering from a serious case of the girl flu! bed head has been my go-to hairstyle of choice for the last few days (I'm not quite ready to part with my pineapple just yet!)

I've been dying to wear this warehouse skater dress since it arrived! since there's still a chill in the air I decided to layer it up with this shirt I found in primark last week; I love the cut out and scalloped detailing on the collar!

I've become a acid wash fan girl so this dress ticks a few boxes for me; I was worried it wouldn't fit after all the junk food I've consumed in the last fortnight but it's one of those miracle dresses that pulls you in in all the right places.. phew!

I hope you've all enjoyed the long weekend, didn't that go fast!? I'm off to drink my thousandth cup of tea of the day and paint my nails; I have a date with geordie shore tonight, why aye man!!

(last but not least I adore writing this little blog; if you enjoy reading it I'd love if you could nominate it for the personal style category at the company awards here!)

cold days call for comfort!

that's exactly what I had whilst I was away, so my go-to uniform consisted of layers (in fact so many layers that I began to resemble an onion!)

I do love my h&m boyfriend jeans; it's definitely a style that seems to divide opinions between me and my friends! personally however I'm a fan of the slightly odd looser shape especially when worn with heels (for a day trekking around galleries I chose to wear mine with my well worn flat boots and simple breton tee!)

the slightly over sized bubble coat was an impulse buy from primark and the hat was a topman sale find!
hat: topman
breton stripe tee: river island similar here

boyfriend low jeans: h&m
belt & necklaces: urban outfitters

after an early morning coffee we headed to uptown to the museum of modern art and the guggenheim to get our culture on! the guggenheim was the highlight for me because of the amazing architecture; I've never been inside a building where the design completely overshadowed the art (in a good way) you take the lift to the top and walk down along the spiral walkway which just seems to gently pull you along!

the museum of modern art had more recognisable and well known exhibits but felt rigid and stuffy after the laid back fun at the guggenheim (we also had to queue for an hour to check in bags & the staff had a way of making everyone feel like naughty children... whoops)

here's some snaps from my afternoon:
and lastly!
