tartan pencil skirt c/o dorothy perkins
tee: topshop
belt: urban outfitters
vanity case: vintage
today I'm featuring a lovely little number from the new dorothy perkins style essentials range. I've always loved pencil skirts as they have such a gorgeous hourglass shape, plus they always make me feel taller, leaner and more feminine when I wear them.. win win!
the style essentials range is a capsule collection that contains the ten key A/W pieces you'll need to update your wardrobe. think cute knits, bikers and furs (but there's also pretty dresses and skirts like the one I'm wearing) I opted for this tartan cutie as it's such an easy way to jump on the A/W punk trend without being OTT!
I've dressed my skirt for a day out shopping but I could easily take it from day to night with heels and a silky cami, the whole collection is designed to be versatile and the prices start from £14 so they're affordable too (there's also 25% off online at the minute hurrah!)
if you're feeling lucky pop over and enter the competition to win £500 to shop the style essentials! ...you'll get to kick back and relax with a friend at a luxury hotel, be wined and dined by dorothy perkins and have a styleover by one of the style advisors.. not bad huh?
what do you think.. do you like the concept behind this range?

unicorn print dress.. life complete!
I don't know if it's my inner child taking over but this dress is so adorable! I want to dust of my collection of my little ponies and have a play date immediately.. any takers?
the dress is by lashes of london; I'm sure many of you will already be regular fans of their clothes but this is from their lashes edit - a new capsule collection for topshop that's full of super cute & flirty items (this amazing little unicorn print also comes as a pair of little shorts which are ridiculously dinky!)
I thought I'd wear my nike blazers as this outfit felt quite fun and I wanted to put a casual spin on the dress (which could easily be a night out number with heels) so I added my denim jacket as well for a more relaxed daytime look.
unico fluro contrast dress: c/o lashes of london
bowler hat: h&m
clutch: primark
ice cream necklace: c/o chelsea doll
nike blazers: office
watch: american apparel
well I'm off to dig out my play-doh factory and make like a 8 yr old..
back soon!
