I've spent most of this week in a food induced slumber so the arrival of 2014 has rather snuck up on me.. I wanted to squeeze in one last outfit post before the new year so here it is! there's nothing brand spanking new here, just some of my old faves that I haven't worn for a while (I'll save the newbies for the new year) I'm also sporting a face-liftingly tight topknot as I'd been swimming earlier in the day.. who knew you could inflict so much pain on your scalp.. ouch.

I've been indulging in a little bit of sale shopping so I'll have some shiny new things to post soon.. I've also found the cutest kawaii stationery seller (yippee) so I'll put up some snaps of my latest geeky purchases (yep you guessed it, more notebooks)

2014 it's going to bring the usual promises of healthy eating my way so I'm going out in style tonight (face first in a cheese board selection if I have my way...)

sometimes I'm just lazy personified.. yep I like to wear my summer dresses allllll year round. I picked up this smock dress just as autumn kicked in so it's only had one outing to date ...a crying shame as the smock dress is gods gift to winter over eaters like myself.

these pictures were taken whilst I was in reykjavik, it was a pretty relaxed day of strolling about snapping the city and eating cake so it's a casual outfit affair (just how I like it) despite the cold I only wore a tee under my coat as I'm convinced this old faux fur has some kick ass special powers (I'll go from frostbitten to feverish in under an hour) no real layering required with this bad boy.

I'm so glad the weekend is looming.. hallelujah! I desperately need a day off to get started on my christmas shopping (..and obligatory mince pie eating yippee!)

what I wore: the big apple

I'm baaaaack!

I wish I could have stayed in new york but it's always nice to be reunited with my bed and proper cups of tea! I thought I should take some outfit photos whilst I was away (in between eating too many pancakes, squealing at every yellow taxi and generally being as excited as a 5yr old in a sweet shop) I'll pop them up over the next few weeks (it makes a nice change to have some outdoor photos again hurrah!)

well the first day was sunny but a little bit chilly so I layered up like a snowman (this was a reoccurring theme!) I wore one of my old vintage denim shirts, my fave urban outfitters sweater and my go-to topshop leigh jeans.

my boohoo faur fur is my absolute favourite coat this year so it had to come along for the trip too. I love it's vintage fit and style and it's pretty much like wearing a hug all day long!

after a few hours of sight seeing in midtown we made it to the famous shake shack and well... complete gluttony ensued! if you're planning a trip to the big apple pop this place on your to do list! worth the visit for burgers alone.. wowza!
