hello sunshine, good bye wages.
sunny weather puts me in a dangerously good mood which usually leads to shopping. yes I know.. I'm weak.
I have resisted shopping for clothes however (gives myself a pat on the back) and instead decided to buy a few little accessories to perk up my wardrobe for the summer.
first up some sunglasses as I'm horrendlous short of pairs. I'm not sure where they disappear to every year but I have a feeling my mum or sister has a stash of my specs hidden away somewhere... rascals! I picked these sunnies up in h&m along with the blingtastic necklace! I've wanted a statement piece to wear with a white tee and jeans for the summer and I liked the shape of this one.
I also grabbed some barry m gelly polishes (finally!!) I think I was the only blogger who didn't own any of these so I'm looking forward to swatching them. bright shiny nails with summer skin are so pretty!
The last beauty purchase was a top up of my maybelline dream lumi touch concealer; I tend to switch from foundation to just concealer when it's warm so this is an essential one for me!
my final purchase was these gorgeous gladiator sandals from new look, I've had some gift vouchers to use up and when I saw these I knew it was game over. real leather and super comfortable I'll be trading in my cowboy boots for these strappy delights straight away!
sunglasses and necklace: h&m
black leather stud gladiator sandals: new look
I hope you're all enjoying the bank holiday.. I'm off to hit up the garden and get me some vitamin D!
back soon!

cold days call for comfort!
that's exactly what I had whilst I was away, so my go-to uniform consisted of layers (in fact so many layers that I began to resemble an onion!)
I do love my h&m boyfriend jeans; it's definitely a style that seems to divide opinions between me and my friends! personally however I'm a fan of the slightly odd looser shape especially when worn with heels (for a day trekking around galleries I chose to wear mine with my well worn flat boots and simple breton tee!)
the slightly over sized bubble coat was an impulse buy from primark and the hat was a topman sale find!
hat: topman
breton stripe tee: river island similar here
navy coat: primark
boyfriend low jeans: h&m
belt & necklaces: urban outfitters
boots: vintage
after an early morning coffee we headed to uptown to the museum of modern art and the guggenheim to get our culture on! the guggenheim was the highlight for me because of the amazing architecture; I've never been inside a building where the design completely overshadowed the art (in a good way) you take the lift to the top and walk down along the spiral walkway which just seems to gently pull you along!
the museum of modern art had more recognisable and well known exhibits but felt rigid and stuffy after the laid back fun at the guggenheim (we also had to queue for an hour to check in bags & the staff had a way of making everyone feel like naughty children... whoops)
here's some snaps from my afternoon:

well this is a pretty simple outfit; sometimes I like to keep it clean and then add a blingtastic amount of jewellery to balance it out aha! I love my comfy basic tees; I have five of these topshop ones in different colours that I've somehow collected over the past year! I often just wear them with my jeans and a blazer (and also with my pj's on lazy weekends) ...definitely my lazy fashion option!
this khaki colour is the latest one I've purchased and slightly over sized- perfect for the post christmas bulge aha! I picked up this h&m striped skirt in the sale for a bargain price of £7 and I'm hoping it will be a summer staple in my wardrobe this year!
I adore my bag; I'm a sucker for a little bit of fashion novelty! it was actually a christmas present from my sister but I've found an identical one from one of my favourite shops chelsea doll when I was looking through their site last week.

my first outfit post of 2013... yikes!
I'll put it out there; along with my love of shopping, trash tv & carbohydrates there's a special place in my heart for the bretton stripe! it's my no brainer outfit pick for casual days when raiding my wardrobe seems like a chore.
if in doubt I'll always throw on a navy & white stripy tee, some skinnies and a red lip for instant easy french chic (well as chic as I can look in my converse anyway.)
I fell for these isabel marant cowboy influenced boots in office a while back; I'm so glad I waited to buy them as there was 50% off them in the sale! needless to say I parted with my card details in a moment of discounted madness and counted down the days until they arrived ..hurrah!
I'm also a little in love with the christmas present that is my new perspex bag (I'm not much of a clutch gal, I tend to go for the cross body hobo style as I'm inherently a lazy pup and hate to carry anything!) it's definitely encouraging me to cut down on the amount of rubbish I cram into my bag on a daily basis... hello streamlined caroline, goodbye mary poppins!

layered skirt: h&m (old)

I nabbed this jumper when I first saw it in the lana del rey advert for h&m and I'm so glad I did.
it's a fluffy little number without the maddening itchiness of a pure mohair jumper. I feel like girlie princess when I pop it on and it's perfect for the temperature at the minute!
it is however a real pain if your wearing black jeans.. it's like a cat shedding its hair! I'll shall stick to wearing it over my dresses until its gets so cold that I have to wear my coats!
jersey dress: topshop
jumper: h&m
chain necklace: h&m
bag: primark
gold pyramid ring: urban outfitters
brooch: vintage
boots: vintage
back soon y'all!
