otylia oversized checked dress: c/o misguided
fedora hat: topshop
boots: primark

ah this dress, I'm forever hunting down smock style numbers so this trapeze dress from misguided has made me all warm inside. it's pretty oversized but the fabric is heavy enough that it hangs really well (although I have failed to take a photo with my arms down to show this.. yes, brilliant work from me as always) it's also a TOTAL steal compared to others on the market so if you like swingy smock dresses this may well be your new bestie.

I've wanted a pair of dr martens all winter but now the weather is picking up I took a gamble on these patent dupes from primark to tide me over (to my shock they're pretty damn comfortable) primark you are my little hero.

in other news it's officially been no tights weather today.. good job I'm not eager or I may have found myself trying on my ENTIRE summer wardrobe, but's who's daft enough to do that yet...

fedora: topshop (old) similar here
bianca jagger lennon sweater: c/o wildfox
lavender satchel: cambridge satchel via asos
jeans: topshop
boots: c/o asos

so instead of opting for the excitement of fashion week this weekend I've been dog sitting, yes that right, I picked pups over LFW.

I have a crazy amount of deadlines ahead so I've combined the joys of dog walks (in gale force winds and rain) with a laptop induced hunchback and regular caffeine intervals. it's not all work though (hurrah) this gorgeous wildfox jumper dropped through my letterbox this week to much excitement (I'm a regular stalker of their instagram) and I couldn't wait to take her out! I love their LA beach babe aesthetic, plenty of slouchy knits and fun logos ..their distressed lennon jumpers have always been a favourite of mine and this one has a big heart on the front.. winner.

so I'm off to finish the last of the chocolates I gave the boy for valentines (you snooze you lose james!) I woke up to the sun beaming down here today.. I can't help but get a little excited for spring.. YIPPEE!

rolling stones tee: christmas gift- similar here or here
skirt: topshop similar here
bag: the whitepepper
fedora: topshop
skagen watch: c/o john lewis
boots: c/o chicwish
rings: kukee

I love a good band tee, I'm always hunting for them in second hand shops.. the older and more moth eaten the better. I've always failed to understand the school of thought that you should only wear a band tee if you've seen them live and hence are a genuine fan...pah, some of my favourite bands aren't even alive so the closest I'll get to a performance is me wailing into a hairbrush. (which is probably the safe option as I've seen the looks on people faces when I sing along full volume at a concert.. it's a humbling mix of pity and fear)

in other news I'm totally in love with my whitepepper bag, in fact with their whole collection (I will most likely cave and buy a few of their smocks this spring) I also like the fact that this bag probably won't match 90% of my wardrobe so will be the perfect accessory for clashing prints love affair!

I also seem to be glued into my fedora this month, god bless the bad hair day saviour.

back soon!

pink coat: new look (similar here and here)
fedora: topshop
zoe karssen sweatshirt: asos
lavender cambridge satchel: asos
jamie jeans: topshop
pandora pearl ring: c/o gift and wrap
cambridge is without a doubt one of my favourite places to visit, the perfect mix of great shopping and culture in the most beautiful setting.
I wore my classic jeans & trainer combo.. heels are just not an option on cobbled streets with my clumsy track record! I've wanted a karssen logo sweat for ages so I finally caved bought one earlier this month and it's perfect for this in-between weather (I think I'll probably be investing in some of the tee's this summer as I'm now officially a fangirl)
I also wore my new freshwater pearl ring from gift and wrap; I think I'm one of the few people that doesn't collect pandora charms but I instantly loved this simple silver ring. it won't go out of style as it's such a classic piece and I can wear it with anything.. their full pandora range of jewellery is here!
to top off my day I bumped into one of my most loved bloggers claire from claireabellemakes, I spend quite a few of my tea breaks catching up on her latest projects so it was a massive treat to finally get a chance to talk rather than tweet! (she also reminded me that there's a tiger store in cambridge so keep your eyes peeled for another stationery haul on the blog this week!)
back soon!

velvet world dress: c/o mee mee
fedora: topshop
backpack: topshop
studded boots: old

eeeeeep I finally have some velvet in my wardrobe!

every season tartan and velvet seem to be a staple in autumn/winter trends and I massively regretted not investing in a velvet dress last season! this little number is from the new arrivals at meemee and it was velvet & sheer winner at first sight.. it had a hint of gothic fairytale but still looked wearable.

I'm not a huge fan of big sheer panels but subtle ones get the thumbs up for me; I'll mostly wear this dress layered up with jumpers, tights and chunky boots so it'll be quite versatile this winter (no doubt It'll pop up on here again soon!)

I'm already looking forward to layering up again (and probably eating my way into hibernation) is that wrong? anyone else excited to whip out the knits?

topi tea dress: motel
fedora: topshop
selena bag: la moda
martie shoes: topshop
chunky silver band: kukee

some brands are just damn dangerous for my bank balance!

motel is one of those websites I go out of my way to avoid browsing due to the sheer amount of temptation on offer, I am however fatally weak (I guess some things are just too pretty to avoid goddamn it)

I finally ordered this dress after a few days of ummming and ahhhing and I'm so glad I did;  it's the perfect little summer dress and really comfortable to wear (now I just have to resist the other three dresses I spotted...)

I also picked up this oversized selena bag from la moda which was a steal at £16 and could quite literally carry a small rhino (ok I exaggerate a little but it's amazingly roomy) I loved the padlock and tassel detail and I wanted a big white summer bag for holiday so it ticked all the boxes. they have some beauties in stock the minute and I'm seriously tempted to go back for another style as they're so darn affordable.

I best get off my laptop, the boy has been on a 100 mile bike ride today and is expecting a slap up meal, god help him (the contents of my fridge include butter, chocolate and a suspicious looking packet of  ham... send help!)

back soon
