burkatron interior blog

i picked up some really cute homewares last month. i'm always looking for inspiration so i was excited to discover new independent shops when i was working with etsy a few weeks back. i wanted to share them with you along with a few bargains that i stumbled across in my local high street shops!

one of my favourite discoveries were seagrass belly baskets from peastyle, they're great for storage (especially throws and craft supplies) and i'll probably go back for more to use as planters around my house. the black and white tasselled throw was a bargain £10 from one of my favourite shops tiger who sell all kinds of homewares and stationery.

i also found virginia's shop viceramics, she makes a mix of functional items including this gorgeous ceramic hanging planter. keep an eye on her shop as they come in different shapes and colours!

muji storage

i mentioned a while back that i wanted to update a lot of my prints, i currently have a whole range of colours and styles and i wanted a more unified feel. i've decided to look for more b&w and grey toned artwork so i couldn't resist this 'it's hip to be square' print from coco and dee designs. the andy warhol art print was a holiday purchase from an art gallery in madrid but you can find lots of his prints online (just google warhol photo booth print.) now i just need to hunt down some frames for them so i can start hanging a new gallery wall.

i've been meaning to minimise the amount of colourful bottles i have on rotation in my bathroom. i figured if i found some cute dispensers i could re bottle all my not so pretty shampoo/conditioners/hand wash etc in a more minimal way. when i spotted these muji refill pump bottles i knew i'd found my solution to an organised looking bathroom (my inner geek was pretty dang happy.)

etsy independent shops

another shop to catch my eye was hopscotch, they offer an beautiful array of hand poured minimal candles (i went for the fresh candle- which smells like clean laundry!) as well as stationery, skincare and jewellery. definitely one to bookmark for future gift shopping..

the little hand mannequin was a holiday souvenir but you can find nicer versions at hay that make wonderful ornaments for coffee tables/desks etc. i love the scandi feel to them and i guess you could also use them to hold jewellery?
