face oils: the new favourite

I thought I'd share my latest skin favourite with you.. cowshed raspberry seed face oil. I have to admit it took me a while to get used to face oils.. having slightly oily t zone always put me off the idea of applying oils (I wanted less oil on my face not more after all) but after some research I realised that they were indeed well worth using and bit the bullet (this is now the 3rd oil I've used and it's my favourite to date!)

the main selling point and the reason I picked this one to review is due to cowshed's honest and natural approach to skincare (there's no parabens, petrochemicals or other nastiness in this bad boy) there's a satisfying list of natural essential oils in the ingredients unlike some out there on the market containing mineral oil (..shu uemura I'm looking at you) so I was looking forward to trying it out!

I've been using it for a month now and I've only got good things to say about it, my skin feels more plump, it's also noticeable softer in the mornings and my make up applies better now my skin is more hydrated. I went to ireland recently and didn't bring it with me (damn hand luggage restrictions) and I have to say I missed having it in my evening routine...

after cleansing I put 1-2 drop between my palms, rub them together to warm it up and then gently pat it onto my face and neck... follow up with moisturiser to sandwich in all that hydration!

it's available from fragrance direct here if you want to read up more on it's oily goodness.

are you a fan of face oils? what's your favourite?

  3. I've not tried a face oil before, i have oily skin myself and the thought of layering more oil frightens me! But, oily skin, far from being over hydrated, is just dry skin underneath. I may have to pick this up for a try!

  4. I love using an oil. Whenever I buy big sets of Liz Earle from QVC they always include a little vial of the Superskin Concentrate, and it is divine. The full sized bottle is £40 though, so it's been sitting on my wishlist for years. x

  10. I've only tried Darphin Tangerine Aromatic Care - loved it, but I feel it's a bit too much for my skin to use oil + cream. I might switch to oil over the summer. I'd love to try cowshed, do you know if they to samples? x
